Smoot and Lazada Provide 100 Units of Electric Motorcycles for Bali Regional Police to Support Indonesian Presidency in G20

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- The Bali Police revealed that they would use 300 electric motors to secure the G20 Summit which will be held in Bali next month. The procurement of electric motors is a form of assistance from various parties. Bali Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Putu Jayaan Danu Putra explained that his party received assistance from 100 units of electric motorcycles from the collaboration of Lazada and Smoot. Then another 200 units of electric motors came from other parties but no details were mentioned.

"There are 300 units in total," he said as reported by Antara, Tuesday (11/10). Smooth is an electric motor that uses a no-charge system. Users can get battery energy by exchanging batteries at the exchange location provided.

According to the Smoot Electric Motor website, the only electric motor model currently on sale is called the Tempur, which uses a lithium-ion battery type LFP (lithium iron phosphate) with a capacity of 64V 22.5 Ah for a range of up to 60 km.

According to Danu's explanation, there are currently hundreds of battery exchange points in Bali, especially in Badung and Denpasar.

"So, we don't have to wait long, just change the battery at a certain place and we can go (walk) again," he said.

Danu revealed that hundreds of these electric motorcycles were loans and were expected to be given for operations after the G20 Summit.

Lazada Indonesia Chief Logistics Officer Phillipe Auberger said he was considering the request.

"We are lending this electric motorbike for free. We will discuss later [with the Bali Police] for the possibility of placing this electric motorbike in the long term," said Auberger.
